❤️ 🧶Hearts for Abernethy: A Community Fiber Installation ❤️ 🧶
Mon, Feb 2 12:31pm
Just in time for Valentine's Day, our community is coming together to create a vibrant collection of hand-knit and crocheted hearts that will be installed along the fence around Abernethy as a show of care + love for our school families in these tough times. The project is the brainchild of Ellen Spitaleri, Abernethy neighbor, former educator and avid knitter - thank you Ellen, you're a gem <3 <3 <3

This is a full-on community project, so here are ways you can participate!

Attend Our Heart Knitting Event this Thurs 2/5!
- Our local yarn shop, Fiber Rhythm, is hosting us for a knit-along!
- Stop by the shop (2505 SE 11th Ave., enter along Division St.) this Thursday, February 5th, any time between 5-8pm and make hearts with us!
- We'll provide the yarn and patterns, but please bring your own needles and hooks!

Help Install the Hearts! Wed, 2/11
Meet at the Abernethy gazebo on Wednesday, February 11th at 8:30am for the installation.
- *Hearts, installation supplies, coffee, tea + baked goodies will be provided!
- The students have no idea this is happening, so we're excited to surprise them with LOVE!
Bring: warm clothing and any finished hearts you might have!

Excited about this project, but the event timings don't line up? You can still participate!
Knit/crochet your own hearts (see patterns below) and drop them off at Fiber Rhythm during open hours before Wednesday, 2/11! Store hours: Mon Noon-8pm; Tue-Thurs 10am-8pm; Fri-Sat 10am-5pm and Sunday Noon-5pm.

Patterns!

Thank you for your care + support of this project!
