Moveathon (Friday, 5/15)

We are officially in the home stretch! As of today, our community has raised $13,507—putting us at over a third of the way to our $40,000 goal.

Last year we had raised $16,800 by this time so we are just a bit behind but the energy is building! In just the last two days, we’ve seen over 40 new donations come through. Currently, 35% of our students have active fundraising pages. Our goal is to see every student represented on that field this Friday!

How you can help us hit the finish line this Friday, May 15th:

-Reach 100% Participation: If your student doesn't have a page yet, it only takes a minute to set up at your 99Pledges link. No donation is too small—the goal is to get everyone involved! If you're having any issues with your 99 Pledges page, please e-mail fundraising@adamselementary.org

-The Power of Laps: We’ve seen many supporters pledging $1, $2, or even $5 per lap. These "per-lap" pledges are a great way to get kids excited to run their hardest on Friday!

-Double Your Impact: Don't forget to check if your employer offers corporate matching. This is the fastest way to turn our current momentum into the full $40,000 we need for our school's essential programs.

Let’s keep this momentum going and make this the best Moveathon yet! Go Adams!

We’re still looking for event volunteers as well. See how you can help and sign up here.

Collaborative & Proactive Solutions Conversation (Tonight, 5/12)

The Seattle-focused conversation about the Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) framework, led by Dr. Ross Greene, is tonight! CPS – a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and state-endorsed approach – can support Seattle public school students with academic or behavioral challenges and provide their educators and families with practical strategies for success.

The CPS framework may be a valuable way for Adams Elementary families to express what kind of school culture we want for our students. Please consider registering for this free virtual conversation.

  • When: May 12, 6-8 pm
  • Where: Online/virtual event
  • Who should attend: Families, educators, school leaders, and district staff
  • ASL and Spanish interpretation will be provided
  • Register: bit.ly/4syu3Pr

Syttende Mai Parade (Sunday, 5/17)

We'd love to have you join us in representing Adams Elementary in the Syttende Mai Parade on Sunday, May 17th. Ballard hosts the largest Syttende Mai Parade outside of Norway, celebrating Norwegian Constitution Day. We always have so much fun!

We will assemble on the Adams playground (near Ms Alvarado's room) at 5pm. Students and families are encouraged to wear Adams spirit wear or their MOVEATHON t-shirts (which they will receive on Friday). You may bring a kids scooter, stroller, wagon, or unicycle, but please wear a helmet. Also, please accompany your child! We all disperse at the end of the parade, so make sure you're able to get home.

Book Bounce

If your spring cleaning unearths any books you are ready to get rid of, please consider donating to the Book Bounce!

Highly sought-after books include graphic novels of all sorts, Dav Pilkey series (Dog Man, Cat Kid Comic Club, Captain Underpants), books about popular franchises (Harry Potter, Pokemon, Minecraft, Star Wars, etc.), and Weird But True series books.

We also welcome donations of cloth bags/reusable bags to help send home books from the Book Bounce! (No board books or holiday book donations, please.)

A donation box has been set up in the front office. Consider donating today!
