Dear Adams Families,
We'd love to have you join us in representing Adams Elementary in the Syttende Mai Parade on Sunday, May 17th (tomorrow!). Ballard hosts the largest Syttende Mai Parade outside of Norway, celebrating Norwegian Constitution Day. We always have so much fun!
We will assemble on the Adams playground (near Ms Alvarado's room) at 5pm and then queue up on either 62nd or 26th when it's our turn. We are number 19 out of 90 groups so we are lucky to walk on the early side. The parade begins at 6pm and will wrap up at 8pm. Students and families are encouraged to wear Adams spirit wear or their MOVEATHON t-shirts. You may bring a kids scooter (non-motorized), stroller, wagon, or unicycle, but keep in mind that construction has torn up the road a bit near QFC on 24th...wear a helmet. I have a bunch of small Norwegian flags to pass out, too. Also, please accompany your child! We all disperse at the end of the parade, so make sure you're able to get home from Old Ballard.
The parade begins at the corner of NW 62nd and 24th Avenue NW. The route runs south to Market Street, heads eastward to Bergen Place park, then turns right onto 22nd and continues south down Ballard Avenue, ending at Lone Pl. (Parade Route)

Participants are required to fill out a Hold Harmless Agreement found here. Please print and bring with you to the parade. I'll have extra copies on hand as well.
We hope to see you there! Let me know if you have any questions.
Skål!
