Hi everyone,
We’re excited to celebrate our amazing teachers and staff this week and wanted to share what’s happening across the school!
Each grade has taken the lead on a day to help make the week special. If you haven’t already jumped in, keep an eye out for any additional sign-ups or coordination from your grade’s parent group—there may still be opportunities to contribute. We also encourage you to support your teachers directly. Check with your room parents if you need any ideas!
Here’s what’s planned:
Monday (1st Grade)
1st grade families are providing breakfast for staff, and Kindergarten families cleaned and decorated the staff lounge to kick off the week.
Tuesday – Cinco de Mayo (2nd Grade)
Festive dessert treats will be provided, including favorites like tres leches and churros.
Wednesday – Early Release (4th Grade)
Staff lunch will be provided.
Thursday (3rd Grade)
3rd grade students and families are planning to stay after school on Wednesday to leave chalk notes so teachers arrive Thursday morning to messages of appreciation.
Friday (5th Grade)
We’ll wrap up the week with a build-your-own bouquet flower bar for staff.
Separate details will be shared regarding plans to celebrate Principal Doug Sohn. In addition, teachers and support staff will be included in a gift card raffle this week. Thanks to the generosity of this community, we expect to have enough for each staff member to receive a gift card as part of Staff Appreciation Week.
Thank you all for helping make this a thoughtful, community-wide effort to celebrate the people who care for and support our kids every day.
Warmly,
Leslie Haynsworth
