The PTA and Adams Elementary are in need of volunteers to coordinate our second/final fundraiser of the year, Moveathon.
Moveathon is a widely popular event among students and teachers. We cannot do it without leaders, help make this event happen for our students.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Plan and organize the Moveathon, held in spring. Planning includes all aspects of the event, including refreshments, grab bags (if applicable), sponsors, t-shirts, volunteers, music, tents, etc.
• Work with the Fundraising Chair to develop the fundraising goal and solicit any help needed.
• Secure donations from local business sponsors.
• Advertise, with the help of the Fundraising Chair, the event through all school channels: Readerboard, backpack mail, PTA newsletter, grade rep emails, school text, social media, and the website.
• Identify volunteer needs and create a sign up for the day
• Ideally there should be at least two people planning Moveathon, with assistance from the fundraising team.
Time Commitment: Committee meetings occasionally leading up to early spring, then potentially multiple hours a week increasing closer to the event. (Possibly 50-60 total.)
Any Moveathon Coordinator will need to be an approved volunteer with SPS because it requires being at Adams during the school day. Please reach out to pjroche@seattleschools.org and ptapresident@adamselementary.org if you would like to volunteer to run this event but are not yet approved. Other smaller roles that do not require being at the Moveathon event would not have the same requirement. (Ie helping with tee shirt or gathering sponsors.) Anyone who volunteers at the Moveathon event needs to be an approved volunteer with SPS.
