NEW! PTA President’s Message
Addison Community:
Welcome to the first edition of the Addison eAdvisor for the 2020-21 school year! It’s been a busy week and I hope everyone is easing into a routine and becoming more comfortable with distance learning. There was so much time and effort put into getting our community ready for the first day of school - THANK YOU to all staff members who made it happen and are continuing to do all they can to make this year a success for our students.
The PTA Back-to-School Packet is available online — click here for more information. One item I would like to highlight is PTA membership. I strongly encourage all families to join the PTA and become more involved in shaping how education will move forward under the distance learning model and when safe, transitioning to our students’ return to campus.
Lastly, I want to extend a special note of thanks to Rob Babcock (parent of Maxine, grade 3) who worked tirelessly over the last few weeks to get Konstella and our PTA website updated for the first day of school. We typically aren’t up and running on Konstella so early in the school year, however, Rob pushed ahead and made the impossible possible!
Wishing you all health,
Lauren Williams
PTA President

NEW! Support Our Students and Teachers — Pledge to PiE Today
The 2020-21 PiE fundraising campaign is underway — check your Back-to-School packet for details! Pledge your contribution early and check it off your list. Palo Alto students and the staff who support them depend on our community, through PiE. From our classroom aides, to teachers for STEM, art, and music electives, to caring counselors, mentors, and wellness professionals, PiE-funded staff impact our kids every day. Between now and September 8, you can double your impact via the $500,000 Back-to-School Challenge Grant which matches every dollar donated to PiE. Please donate today: http://papie.org/donate/
NEW! HELP WANTED: Room Parents Needed
The PTA usually hosts a Back-to-School Coffee on the first day of school. This year things are “different” in many regards. However, many of our teachers are still hopeful to have the support of Room Parents. For any Addison veteran Room Parents who are interested in signing up again, please click here and add your name to the appropriate classroom. If you are new to Addison, or new to the Room Parent role and want more information, please contact addisonschoolpta@gmail.com.
