NEW! PTA President’s Message
The Addison community traditionally hosts a holiday gift drive on campus in partnership with Family Giving Tree. Unfortunately due to health and safety concerns, we are not able to host the program this year. In its place, four of our amazing community members (Lisa & Jacob Kivett, Sarah Kimball, and Roberta Pinheiro) have teamed up to launch the Addison Gift Drive. Details were sent via Konstella on Friday – if you’d like to participate by donating, please click here.
Below are a few reminders of important events taking place this week:
- If you are interested in a learning model change, please complete the Request for Change of Learning Model form by December 14th at 5 pm. Link to form here.
- There have been updates to the A/B hybrid calendar in 2021. Check the school calendar for more details.
- Principal Boyce will host her final Principal’s Coffee of 2020 on Tuesday, Dec. 14th at 4pm. Zoom link is updated in the school calendar.
This is the last eAdvisor of 2020 – we'll be back in January. I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a peaceful holiday season and share continued hope that we all will have a happy and healthy 2021.
Wishing you all health,
NEW! Holiday Collection for Judy the Crossing Guard
Anyone who has to cross Middlefield Road while walking, biking or scootering to school knows Judy, Addison’s treasured crossing guard. We all appreciate that she keeps our students and families safe on the way to and from school. Please consider contributing whatever amount you can to show your appreciation to Judy this holiday season. Contributions can be made via PayPal using this link or by dropping cash/checks in the collection box that will be in front of the school office doors before school this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, from 8-8:15am each morning. All funds collected will be presented to Judy on Friday after school.
Judy was featured a few years ago in a newspaper article describing a local charity, The Christmas Bureau. She was quoted as being thankful for the $35 she gets every year from the charity. Judy was quoted as saying she often puts the money toward some new gloves or boots, to help make her crossing guard salary and Social Security check stretch further. Since she does not get paid over the winter break holiday, a little extra this time of year really helps her out.
NEW! Help Local Families Financially Impacted by COVID-19
The Palo Alto Community Fund (PACF) is supporting the urgent need in our nearby community, including PAUSD families. The most recent shelter-in-place order will bring additional financial concerns to many families. PACF is working with school district staff to identify and support families of students attending PAUSD schools who are struggling to meet basic life needs. As PACF’s fund grows, so will the support to the community. Please donate if you are able to support this local effort.
