NEW! PTA President's Message
Tomorrow, February 1, marks the first day of a month-long celebration of Black History. PAUSD and the City of Palo Alto have launched a 21-Day Equity Challenge to provide us all with a powerful opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of how inequity and racism affect our lives, our community and our student's education. The #PAEquityChallenge will provide online daily activities (brief readings, videos, etc.) that can be done in 15 minutes or less. Each daily topic will provide an opportunity to deepen our connections and further our understanding of power, privilege, oppression, and equity AND BELONGING. The district has established a goal of 1,000 participants - and I am hopeful that the Addison community can reach 100. I encourage all of you to sign up for this critically important initiative and encourage others to do so as well!
Wishing you all health,
NEW! Hit the Road or the Slopes this Weekend? Read on...
The PTA would like to remind everyone that the mandatory directive on travel issued by the Santa Clara County Department of Health on November 28, 2020 and revised on December 15, 2020 remains in effect. Therefore, if you travel outside of the county, the following guidelines apply: “Except as otherwise provided in this Directive, all persons traveling into Santa Clara County, whether by air, car, train, or any other means, directly or indirectly from a point of origin greater than 150 miles from the County’s borders must quarantine for at least 10 days after arrival.”
NEW! PTA Nominating Committee for 2021-22 School Year Forming
Each year, a PTA nominating committee is formed to recruit volunteers to fill board and chair positions. If you are interested in joining the nominating committee, please reach out via email - firstname.lastname@example.org. Nominating Committee is a once a year commitment and is a great way to help ensure a wide range of community members are aware of open positions and helps us get more families involved throughout the school year.
NEW! School Photos & Yearbook
While we won’t have the same events and memories that usually take place throughout the school year, the PTA is happy to announce we have a 2020-21 yearbook. All students - hybrid and FDL - are encouraged to participate. An opportunity for individual photos to be taken at school will be offered to all students, or families may submit individual photos to be included in the yearbook. More info on individual and class photos and yearbook order info will be sent out in February. The yearbook committee is looking for classroom editors - it’s a one time commitment that you can do on your own schedule! If you are interested in helping, please reach out to email@example.com for more details.
