While we can't have our all school gathering for the Halloween Breakfast and Parade, we will have a "special" version of our Addison traditions this year.
Classroom Halloween Celebrations
Students will have the opportunity to dress up in a costume during the week of Halloween for a classroom/grade level Halloween parade. Hybrid students in Green/ "A" cohort are welcome to wear Halloween costumes on Wednesday and Blue/ "B" cohort students can wear costumes on Friday. Students who are FDL can also wear costumes on Friday.
We encourage everyone who wants to participate to find a fun way to join in the celebration - costumes are optional. Our usual school rules apply - keep your costumes safe for everyone - no weapons or overly scary items which may be frightening for some of our younger school friends.
All School Halloween Parade - Saturday, October 31 at 9 AM
The PTA will host a Halloween Parade on Zoom on Saturday, October 31 at 9 AM. We need your help to pull this off! Families are encouraged to snap photos of Addison students in their Halloween Costume and submit to the Addison PTA to be included in the virtual parade. Please submit your photos by noon on Friday, October 30th to email@example.com. Include your student’s name, grade level, classroom teacher and name of costume.
In addition to the costume parade, we’ll also be sharing a special edition of the 5th Grade THRILLER and Noon Chorus’ SWEET performance.
Grab a box of donut holes from Happy Donut and some minis from House of Bagels and join us live on Zoom on Halloween morning (10/31) at 9 AM: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84694255733
If you are unable to make the 9 AM showtime on Halloween morning - don’t worry! We will send the links out later in the day for all to enjoy.
Getting In the the Spirit
The Halloween spirit has always been strong at Addison and in our neighborhoods throughout Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Redwood City — and this year is no exception! If you’ve decorated for the Halloween season or know of a great spot in your neighborhood, we’d love to check it out! Update locations on the Addison Halloween Map - http://bit.ly/AddisonHalloween
Please note that this map will be accessible to anyone with the link - only include information that is ok to share publicly.
Directions for adding a pin: Directly under the search button on the map, you'll see a pin symbol. Click on this and scroll to your home on the map, then click.
Do you have a favorite Halloween song? Add it to the Addison Halloween Playlist on Spotify and maybe you’ll hear it during the parade on Halloween morning: Addison's Monster Mash
