Dear Addison Families,
In response to the devastation caused by the Northern California Camp Fire, Addison’s Student Council launched a fundraiser this morning. I made an announcement to all students advising them of this effort.
The donation drive - Paper, Pennies, and Plastic for Paradise – will benefit the local Boys and Girls Club. Our own Ms. Wright will deliver the funds during her trip to the affected area over the Thanksgiving break.
Students are being encouraged to take the initiative (November Lifeskill) to help out by bringing in dollar bills, coins, or gift cards that they would like to donate to help these children and families who cannot return to their homes.
Student Council will put shoeboxes in the office and in each classroom to collect the donations from the students. Students are being reminded that no donation is too small and they should only give what their heart and piggy bank allow.
The collection will kick off this week (Thursday the shoe boxes will be in the classrooms) and will continue the week after Thanksgiving.
At this time of year we often spend time thinking about all we are thankful for in our lives. It is even more important this year that we not only give thanks for all we have, but also think of others around us.
