Dear Addison Families,
Happy New Year and we are very excited to welcome back your child(ren) to school tomorrow. Full-distance learning (FDL) and hybrid classes resume tomorrow, Jan. 7th, and the "B"/Blue hybrid cohort and PAUSD+ students will attend school at Addison. As a reminder, the mandatory directive on travel issued by the Santa Clara County Department of Health on November 28, 2020, remains in effect. If you have traveled outside of the county, the following guidelines apply: “Except as otherwise provided in this Directive, all persons traveling into Santa Clara County, whether by air, car, train, or any other means, directly or indirectly from a point of origin greater than 150 miles from the County’s borders must quarantine for at least 10 days after arrival.” We appreciate your support in following the guidelines to help keep our school community safe.
Today, PAUSD teachers and special education support staff participated in very engaging professional development. The teachers and I explored a variety of topics including how to support struggling readers, equity, online learning programs, and what we've learned or need to further consider in both FDL and hybrid teaching. We also listened to a dynamic speaker and read an article regarding COVID related work stress and how to practice self-care as we continue on this journey. As always, I'm deeply grateful to be working with a committed, engaged, and reflective staff who care deeply for students and each other.
I hope the Winter Break brought you quiet reflection and joyful family time. As a staff, we look forward to our continued collaboration and partnership during these unusual times. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any updates, questions or thoughts as we move through 2021.
