Principal's Update- Dec. 2, 2020
Wed, Dec 2 8:12pm

Dear Addison Families,

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and break.  I was grateful for the time to slow down, reconnect with family, and reflect on the extraordinary journey we have been on together this year adapting to various programs, safety guidelines and transitions.  It feels like we’ve turned a corner and can now focus on strengthening both our hybrid and FDL programs since all families have selected a learning model.  This is going to continue to require a strong partnership between home and school as parental support is still required in both programs.

I’ve had a few questions regarding whether there will be an opportunity to switch programs in January 2021 and dependent on space, families will have the opportunity to make a change request.  Once I receive more information on the process, I will be sure to share with families before the Winter Break.  Additionally, I plan to hold a Principal’s Coffee via Zoom on Tuesday, Dec. 15 @ 4pm to share insights regarding our two programs and project goals for the year ahead:

As always, I appreciate our partnership and commitment to keep our community healthy and safe.  Our Superintendent and PTA sent important messages earlier this week describing the changes in the Santa Clara County travel guidelines.  Please review as a 14-day travel quarantine is now required if a student enters back into our county after from a distance of 150 miles or further.  Additionally, if extended family enters our county from the same distance, they are expected to quarantine without contact with any persons other than members of one's own immediate traveling party or one's household.  Please see the latest Mandatory Directive on Travel and thank you for doing your part to keep our community healthy.

On the topic of travel, the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Team has created a survey for all PAUSD parents. Please take a few minutes to complete the Parent Transportation Survey to help create more opportunities for safe walking, biking, and scooting in our community.  We need at least 70% participation in order to receive feedback on our travel paths to school.

As the calendar year comes to an end, we know some 5th grade students will be applying to Independent Schools for the 2021-22 school year.  If your child has plans to apply, please make sure the front office, teachers, and I receive your request for transcript and recommendation letters by Monday, Dec. 7th.  This will give us the appropriate time needed to complete the steps by the required timelines.

Finally, registration for the 2021-2022 school year opens on January 4, 2021. Families with children who are not currently enrolled with PAUSD, and want to enroll a child to attend a PAUSD school starting in August 2021, must follow all the instructions at the PAUSD Enrollment web site starting on January 4: If you have any questions about if you should enroll your child, please send an email to
