Principal's Update- Oct. 22, 2020
Thu, Oct 22 12:32pm

Dear Addison Families,

This week's Principal's Update is short as we are busily preparing for four 2nd and 3rd grade classes to return to campus next week!  There is a lot of work involved in terms of setting up the classrooms, play zones and equipment, entry/ exit gates, lunch areas, class assignments, health screeners and protocols.  Happily, it was a smooth transition for our K/1 families so the time investment prior to students starting is worthwhile!  The 4th and 5th grade parent survey is out now so if you haven't already completed it, please do so by Monday, Oct. 26 @ 5pm as classes will be built and teacher assignments made on Tuesday, Oct. 27.  Once again, families need to choose the program that will work best for them. There is no right or wrong choice and please do not make a selection with the hope that a certain selection will guarantee a particular teacher.  As Principals, we do everything possible to keep our students with site staff but in some cases, classes have been assigned to teachers from other schools.

Next week is Halloween!  While we cannot have a Halloween breakfast or parade, we can still dress up!  For our hybrid families, Green/ "A" cohort students are welcome to wear Halloween costumes on Wednesday and Blue/ "B" cohort students can wear costumes on Friday.  Students who are FDL can also wear costumes on Friday. Please remember no weapons or scary makeup (blood, scars, etc.).  Furthermore, look for a PTA message today regarding a virtual celebration on Saturday, Oct. 31.  It should be spook-tacular!

Fondly,

Amanda Boyce

Principal
