Principal's Update- Oct. 28, 2020
Wed, Oct 28 4:55pm

Dear Addison Families,

Happy Halloween Week!  Even thought we won't be able to celebrate with our traditional Breakfast and Parade, our Green/ "A" cohort students dressed up today and our Blue/"B" cohort students, FDL students, and Kindergarteners are encouraged to dress up on Friday.  Additionally, our wonderful PTA is hosting a Halloween Virtual Parade on Saturday, Oct. 31 @ 9am. Please send photos of your child in costume to addisonschoolpta@gmail.com by Friday at noon.  If you can't attend the event online at 9am, a recording will be sent out.

This week, our 2nd and 3rd grade students made the transitions to hybrid or full distance learning (FDL) classes.  Thus far, it appears everyone has settled in well to their new classes and routines.  We are still requesting for all parents to complete the online health screener by 8am each day if your child is coming to school.  If you're having any challenges with accessing the screener, please contact me directly.

Yesterday, the Elementary Principals came together a final time to analyze the parent survey results for 4th and 5th grades and assign teachers accordingly.  In 4th grade, 24% of our families selected FDL and 76% selected hybrid.  In 5th grade, 12% selected FDL and 88% selected hybrid.  Our 4th and 5th grade families will be notified about their teacher and cohort on Monday, Nov. 2 by 5pm.  The new class transitions will take place on Monday, Nov. 9.

Fondly,

Amanda Boyce
