Dear Addison Families,
As we prepare for the next school year, it's time to fill our parent positions for the 2019-20 School Site Council (SSC). SSC is a parent leadership group that meets monthly to discuss facilities, the social/ emotional climate on campus and instructional goals. The Addison SSC is includes the principal, three other staff members, and four parents. Members serve for two years. Members are asked to attend monthly SSC meetings; time and dates to be determined by the SSC. The School Site Council has a great opportunity to allot state funding to programs, initiatives, and resources that support the whole child. Our SSC bylaws require that we hold elections each year to fill the open parent positions.
In 2019-20, we have two returning parent members and two open positions (and we'd like to have some alternate parents as well). If you are interested in one of the open SSC positions or serving as an alternate, please email a letter of interest to me with the following information: name, grade levels of your children, and a brief statement explaining why you want to be a member of the School Site Council. The deadline for SSC letters of interest is Friday, April 19.
