Did you know the 2020 Census count impacts federal funding that communities receive each year for programs and services that are critical for schools, students, and younger children? When it comes to schools, the 2020 Census will determine funding for special education, teacher training, technology, school lunch assistance, Head Start and after-school programs.

How can you help? Be part of the solution, be counted because your family matters!

In mid-March, homes across the country will begin receiving invitations to complete the 2020 Census. Once the invitation arrives, you can respond in one of three ways: online, by phone, or by mail.

For more information, visit https://2020census.gov/en.html

Want to earn extra money while helping your community?  Become a part-time Census Taker. For more information, visit https://2020census.gov/en/jobs/job-details/job-descriptions.html

Mrs. Anderson’s 2nd grade class is learning about kids who make a
difference and have decided to do just that!  They explored ways to do
this and took a vote.  They want to give to those less fortunate and
donate to people who are homeless.  Below is a list of items they are
collecting.  There will be a box outside her classroom to leave items.
We thank you for your support with this endeavor.
Shampoo, conditioner, hair gel, hair spray, tissues, hand sanitizer,
soap (bar), shaving cream, SOCKS (adult), Q-tips, hair brush,
toothpaste, toothbrush, wash cloths, Chapstick (Dollar bin/travel size
items are the best bet).
Donations will be accepted through March.

There are now two easy ways to earn money for Aiken School though Box Tops for Education. You can download the app and scan your receipt, or you can continue to send in the box tops in plastic bags (grouped by 25). Of course, if you already taped them on a piece of paper we'll accept that as well. Please see the attached flyer for all the details.
