Hi Aiken Families,

 

We hope everyone had an opportunity to reflect on the principles of racial equality and nonviolent social change on this Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

PIZZA BINGO IS BACK!!!

 

This year we will be holding 3 sessions in the cafeteria!

$6 per person or $25 per family

Please ONLY sign-up for 1 session.

Cash or Check: A flyer will be sent home this week to send back in with cash or a check.

Mark your Calendar's Parents Night Out is May 5th! 

Parents’ Night Out is the largest fundraiser for the whole year and has supported so many important investments at Aiken like classroom smart boards, teacher wish list items, subscriptions for the school, field trips, etc.   See the flyer for more details.  

 

 

COME SEE THE COMPLETED MURAL!

After many months of hard work, muralist Sherrie Nedderman has completed the mural on the wall of the cafeteria. It is absolutely stunning! We are grateful to the Foundation for West Harford Public School and the PTO for funding this project.

 

On Tuesday, January 17th from 5:30-7:30 we are offering an Open House for families to view the mural. There will be a scavenger hunt to find different images and Aiken symbols in the mural and the 5th grade class will be hosting a bake sale to raise money for end of year activities. We hope you can stop by!

 

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL) PARENT INFORMATION NIGHT

Each school community will host an information session on WHPS Elementary Social-Emotional/Civics Curriculum this winter. Aiken's parent/guardian information session will be held on Tuesday, January 24 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the Aiken Library Media Center.
