Illuminate West Hartford – May 4th, 7:00pm
Along with many schools in town, we are proud to continue a tradition founded by Aiken’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Parent Committee (EDI) in 2021. “Illuminate West Hartford” is a moment for our beautiful, diverse community to illuminate the issues we and our neighbors face and involve our children in ongoing conversations about social justice.
Each family receives a luminary kit to decorate and display. Your lit luminary will represent your family's commitment to stand in solidarity against racism and discrimination, support and protect each other from all forms of hate, and be anti-racist in your words, actions, andsolutions.
Please join other members of the West Hartford community on May 4th at 7:00pm by lighting your luminary and displaying it so it is visible outside your home.
Please also feel free to share a picture, or post a little bit about what your family has gained through conversation and learning, on Aiken’s Facebook page, or tag the West Hartford EDI (@WestHartfordParentEDI).
