Sun, Dec 1 6:40pm

Hi Aiken!

We hope you enjoyed the nice long holiday weekend. Who else is hoping for a snow day!? I know my kids are! Please read the following for all things Aiken.

Don’t forget about our open pto meeting tomorrow, Monday December 2 from 7-8pm!

However, If there is no school this meeting will be cancelled.

Big News! The first ever WEHA POP-UP Kids Market will be at Town Hall on February 1st 2020! Do you know any budding entrepreneurs in High School, Middle School or Elementary School? All kids participating are given the opportunity to create, market and sell their very own products! Vendors will keep all proceeds they make at the market. All potential vendors can sign up and find more information at What an experience for the youngsters in our community to learn first-hand what it takes to be an entrepreneur! Hurry, vendor space is limited!!!!!!!

There are now two easy ways to earn money for Aiken School though Box Tops for Education. You can download the app and scan your receipt, or you can continue to send in the box tops in plastic bags (grouped by 25). Of course, if you already taped them on a piece of paper we'll accept that as well. Please see the attached flyer for all the details.

You can also earn money for Aiken School every time you shop on Amazon by simply going to and selecting Aiken School PTO as the charity you want to support. You will find the exact same items and discounts as you would see on, but by going through you have the added bonus of donating money to Aiken every time you shop!

December 13, 2019-- PJ Day for the Kids at CCMC

Norfeldt Aiken Families have a wonderful tradition of skiing at Ski Sundown! Norfeldt Aiken Families is not limited to Norfeldt and Aiken students, this is a neighborhood group. The kids receive a lesson and free time skiing, all at a reduced cost. The program runs for 5 weeks, starting in January and ends in late January or early February. Kids go on Wednesday afternoons (all family members may join), since the kids are dismissed early. Kids will enjoy a lesson and free ski. The program is for ages 8+/3rd grade+, and there are plenty of Norfeldt and Aiken families, Middle School, and High School families that participate, as well as friends of Nortfeldt and Aiken families. Last year we organized a group table with snacks and drinks, details for this year TBD. Transportation is not part of the program but some families do carpool. This is a great opportunity for the whole family to hit the slopes for a reasonable cost!

Our Wednesday dates include: January 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th and February 5th. Our lessons will begin at 3:30.

The 5-week prices are as follows:

Child Rates:

Lesson & Lift: $255

Season Pass holder Lessons: $145

Lift only: $171

Equipment Rental: $135

Hobby Quest Survey for Winter Session

Please check out the program descriptions and take the 30 second survey to let us know which class your child would be most likely to join.

Airplane Captains (K-5) - As a commander in this exclusive flying club, you'll learn important STEM concepts in order to build your own new aircraft models like the Batman helicopter, the long-flying Airshow and more! Then you'll take them for a spin and watch them soar through the clouds. This class is the perfect combination of science and fun. Build it. Fly it. Keep it.

Magic Secrets (K-5) - Calling all budding magicians! Learn to perform astounding tricks this winter, like the Magic Top, Anti-Gravity Levitating Glass, and the captivating Stiff Rope. Wow your friends with your mastery of mind-reading, dazzling illusions and powerful predictions. At the end of the session, you'll get to share your new skills with friends and family in a real magic show... and keep all the tricks! Learn it. Perform it. Keep it.

Fashion Denim Dreams (1-6) - This session we are crazy about denim, the most versatile fabric out there! Learn how to design and hand-sew your own denim vest that you can wear alone or with other pieces. Make a cute cotton skirt/shorts to go with it, and fun accessories too. From sketching to altering to decorating, you'll be guided through the process to create fashionable one-of-a-kind pieces. We'll even have a runway show at the end of the session to model your creations for family and friends! Design it. Make it. Wear it.

Photography (1-5) – In this eye-opening adventure into the world of photography, kids learn ALL NEW techniques, just like the pros use! From blue skies and green trees to friendly smiles and sandy feet, our junior shutterbugs capture it all for their very own portfolios. And because young stars deserve time to shine, we conclude with a gallery to show off their artistic images to friends and families. Cameras are provided for the children to use during each class.
