Hello Aiken Families-
It was so wonderful to see everyone who could make it to the Annual Parent's Night Back to School Bash at GastroPark! It was so great to see new and old faces and also support one of our very own parent's rock band!!!!
We have a lot of good stuff happening quickly so please take a moment to read this email and  don't forget to attend our Aiken PTO Kick-Off Meeting on Wednesday, September 14th at 7pm in the Cafeteria. We will offer a hybrid option but encourage you to attend if you're able. 
Hartford Athletics: October 1st @ 7pm
Come and check out Hartford Athletics men's professional soccer at Trinity Health Stadium with highly discounted tickets while fundraising for Aiken Elementary PTO. The first 25 people to register get a pass for an on-field experience before the game. Register at: . See flyer for more details.

The WEHA POP-UP Kids Market is back!
It'll be held in Blue Back Square on October 15th, 10am - 2pm! Do you know any budding entrepreneurs in High School, Middle School or Elementary School? All kids participating are given the opportunity to create, market and sell their very own products! Vendors will keep all proceeds they make at the market. All potential vendors can sign up and find more information at What an experience for the youngsters in our community to learn first-hand what it takes to be an entrepreneur! Hurry, vendor space is limited!!!!!!!

Girls Running Club:

Norfeldt PTO is facilitating the creation of a girls running club and has invited Aiken students to join .

Girls On The Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum! The 2022 Fall season at will begin on Monday, September 19th and will be held Mondays & Wednesdays from 3:30-5pm at Norfeldt Elementary.

Here is a brief overview of the program. Please see the attached flyer for more information about the program.
Girls on the Run is for Gr. 3-5 girls,
Over a 20 week period, the program trains them to run a 5K (The Mitten Run, Dec 4, Blue Back Square).
A team of 16-20 girls needs THREE coaches.
New coaches will be required to attend a 5-hour in-person Girls on the Run/Heart & Sole training session and complete an online training course. Returning coaches are required to attend a 2 hour in-person training and complete online training each season.
At least one coach must be CPR/First Aid certified. Girls on the Run Greater Hartford will provide the necessary training to the head coaches who need it free of charge.
The Head Coach must identify as female and be at least 21 years old. All other coaches must be at least 18 years old and can be either female or male. Junior Coaches should be between the ages of 16-18.
All coaching candidates are subject to screening and approval by Girls on the Run Greater Hartford prior to final selection. See the flyer for more details
