Hi Aiken Families,

We are in the home stretch now, just about 2 months left of school! We have some fun events coming up, a great way to bring our community together. Read through to get all information.

Hoping everyone had a fun and safe spring break.

Cultural Traditions Night (formally known as International Night)

We wanted to clarify that Cultural Traditions Night is a new twist on our annual International Night.  With the help of our Aiken EDI committee we have made this night even more inclusive and representative of ALL our families, not just focusing on language or country of origin, but also other attributes that make us all unique and special.

This year due to Covid our Cultural Traditions Night will be a LIVE VIRTUAL event.  With the help of DJ Q Boogie we hope to engage you all with a night full of fun presentations and trivia games!  The PTO will also be sending home a booklet full of family recipes submitted by families at Aiken.

Please send your Cultural Tradition submissions by Friday, April 16th to aikenpto@gmail.com.

These submissions can include photographs or videos highlighting the tradition you would like to share with our Aiken community.

Cultural Traditions Night will take place April 29th.  More information to come!

Aiken Chess Club

Join the Award-winning
Like athletics are exercise for the body, chess is exercise for the mind. Engaging in chess activity provides school students a substantial advantage in education; essentially development of the mind and patterns of thinking not otherwise offered or encountered. Luckily, it is also a fun and engaging game for kids!

Aiken Chess Club meetings will be online via Zoom on: Tuesdays 5-6 PM (April 20, 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25, June 1 and 8) or
Wednesdays 6-7 PM (April 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19, 26, June 2 and 9) or
Thursdays 5-6 PM (April 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20, 27, June 3 and 10).
