We are a little spring teaser last week. Some nice warm days. Looking forward to spring and the sunshine ahead.

 

Thank you to everyone who helped treat our amazing staff and teacher to special conference week snacks. They really enjoyed the week

Quest For Kids
 

 CCMC foundation is hosting a fantastic event called Quest for the Kids Scavenger Hunt – to support Connecticut Children’s.

 

- a fun, safe, Covid-friendly, 100% outdoor event during April Break. Quest for the Kids is an app-led scavenger hunt throughout downtown Hartford, April 10 through April 24. This is a great way to show your support for Connecticut Children’s patients and their families, too!

 

About Quest for the Kids: Explore Hartford, have fun and support Connecticut Children’s! Go on an epic adventure, answer questions and attempt photo challenges, search plaques and statues to solve riddles. Discover art, culture and Hartford history. No tour guide required; app-led scavenger hunt.

West Hartford's Cookin' Up Something New in 2021

For a second year in a row they  unable to hold their traditional fundraiser, West Hartford's Cookin'!  This fun evening of friends, food and fundraising has been a tradition since 2002!  And while we can't gather together in person, we still must forge ahead with our fundraising.  And so, this year, we invite you to participate in West Hartford's Cookin' Up Something New.

Support West Hartford's Cookin' Up Something New and for your participation at the $100 level or more you will receive a special curated gift bag as a THANK YOU!  One gift bag will include over $200 in gift cards to local restaurants.  Your participation will directly support:

  • $20,000 award to the Department of Equity Advancement to support equity and anti-racism education.
  • $32,837 award to 28 teacher grants for a special grant cycle to provide support during these difficult times.

 

SCHOOL PICTURE DAY - THIS WEEK ON MARCH 18TH

Pictures will be taken on March 18th so wear your best smile on that day! Click on the picture below for price list and picture packages. There will be no class pictures this year and we will be following all of our mitigation strategies and protocols to ensure a safe and fun picture day for everyone.

AIKEN'S GOT TALENT

We are now accepting video auditions to the third annual Aiken’s Got Talent show! Last year’s virtual show was a hit, and we can’t wait to see the talent that is on display this year! Please submit all videos to Abiah Ruel at abiahruel@gmail.com by March 31. The Talent Show will, again, be virtual and we plan to put it out sometime in May. Please keep in mind that, in the interest of time, all talent show submissions cannot exceed 2 minutes. Please feel free to email Abiah with any questions.
 

Aikens Cookbook

West Hartford high school students will share their experience of becoming part of our community from different countries. What is their country of origin like? What brought their families here? What is challenging and what has gone well? Learn about their journeys and hear from school and community supporters how we can welcome newcomers, build relationships, and be of mutual support.
