Support For Ukraine

Please support Morley Elementary School in their efforts to support Ukraine.  The letter below has all the details on how we can help.

Dear Morley community,

We are all aware of the tragic situation in Ukraine. Ukrainians are suffering under constant shelling by Russian forces, with a lack of food and medications. So far, more than 2 million Ukrainians, mostly women and children (twice the population of Rhode Island!!!), have left their homes and crossed the border into Western Europe.  Unknown numbers of citizens inside Ukraine are being killed, wounded or left homeless every day.

We feel the pain and devastation of those who are fighting for their beliefs and freedom.  The Morley PTO would like to do as much as possible to support the people of Ukraine. To do so, we are organizing a bake sale on Thursday, March 17th on the Morley blacktop.

  • 7:45-8:45am Morley community breakfast and bake sale.  Coffee and goods will be served.
  • 3:15-4:15pm Bake sale and donation collection.  This will be open to the wider West Hartford Community, so spread the news!

All baked goods for sale will be marked with notification about eggs, gluten and nuts. Venmo and cash accepted for payments/donations; use the Morley PTO Venmo (@MorleyPTO)  and state "Ukraine support" in the "What's it for?" section.

All proceeds and donations will go to American Red Cross/Ukrainian Humanitarian Crisis Fund (https://www.redcross.org/donate/cm/abc.html/?subcode=abc-pub).

We welcome contributions of baked goods for sale.  Please send an email to kirzonfamily@gmail.com if you want to contribute, and we’ll arrange to have them collected.

Thank you all,

We will hope for peace in Ukraine, Europe and the whole world.
