Hi Aiken Families!
We hope you enjoyed the spring weather this weekend. Please see below for upcoming events for the remainder of March, and into April and May!
4th and 5th Grade Science Fair
It's that time of year again! The Science Fair is an extracurricular activity. Students will be able to select a topic for their project as long as it follows the Scientific Method. We are going to try to do things a bit differently this year. We will have 5 AFTER SCHOOL sessions to guide students through the understanding and preparation to conduct a science fair experiment. Students will conduct experiments at home. We will send home more information and resources for parents to assist in when at home. The Science Fair after school meeting will run from 3:25-4:15 in the Aiken library. The session dates are as follows: March 27, April 3, April 17, April 24, May 1.
The Science Fair will be on May 15 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. AT AIKEN SCHOOL If your child would like to participate and transportation is an issue please contact
sabrinabeaulieu@gmail.com. We can try to arrange carpooling if possible.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! In order to make this experience unforgettable for our students we need your help!!! If you would like to join me and assist in an after school session please email
sabrina.beaulieu@gmail.com. I will have all meeting objectives and activities ready and organized. It is helpful to have more adults to help facilitate conversations. No prior knowledge (or memory) of the scientific method required!
AIKEN'S GOT TALENT - WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26th, 6:30pm
Do you have a cool talent you want to show off? Sing? Dance? Juggle fire?? Paint or Draw?? Be a part of Aiken’s Got Talent and impress your teachers and friends!

There is a school board meeting this Wednesday, March 29th at 7pm. There will be a paper sign up at the door if you wish to speak. A topic that will be discussed that might interest many West Hartford parents and care givers is the possibility of cutting different electives at the elementary level. Please attend if you would like to support this cause.
Have a great week,
