Texting, gaming, Roblox, Minecraft, TikTok, YouTube. Technology is changing fast, and many of us are struggling to stay one step ahead of our kids and learn everything we can about being online.

Join us for a virtual Family Tech Talk presentation with an Internet safety expert from Trend Micro, who will share the latest trends, give advice on how to help your child use the Internet responsibly, and answer parent questions in a Q&A session. The Zoom event will be on Wednesday, January 26th at 7:00PM. Click the link at the bottom to join the event.

A Trend Micro representative will discuss what our children are doing online—and how to teach them to be smart, safe, and respectful digital citizens. They’ll also cover privacy and security issues, how to encourage responsible Internet use, and even more.

To learn more about the program, and about Trend Micro, please check out their website to read about how they are working to make the digital world a safer place. https://www.trendmicro.com/en_us/initiative-education/internet-safety-kids-families.html

In addition to learning some helpful tips, you could win a Trend Micro Internet security product! Five copies of Trend Micro Maximum Security will be raffled off to families attending the event.

We hope you join us on Wednesday, January 26th at 7:00PM to learn more about this important topic.

Read-a-thon February 1-28

Aiken Elementary is excited to provide a family engagement school fundraiser that shares our love of reading while teaching children the importance of giving back to our school.

We invite Aiken Elementary families to help their children track their progress using Read for My School’s digital platform and share your child’s donation page with friends and family to raise money for our school fundraiser.

Please see the QR code in the attached flyer (remember only to log reading from February 1-28)

Save the Date

We are excited to announce that the PTO will be hosting our 13th Parent’s Night Out fundraiser.  All the funds we raise together from this event go directly back to our community through improving the educational experience at Aiken. In past years we’ve been able to fund close to 100% of our teachers’ wish lists of items for their classrooms with the money raised from this event. Specifically, this year we have our eyes set on enhancing the educational environment at Aiken with a sensory playground, technology upgrades and experiences for the kids to remember.
Where: The Pond House in Elizabeth Park
When: Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Tickets will go on sale in late February. Those who RSVP will be sent an email with a link to purchase tickets.
