Parent Information Evening is a great parent-only opportunity for parents to listen, learn and ask questions about your child's school experience at Doniphan. You might hear it called "PIE Night"--while there's no pie, the PTA is providing some light snacks this year.
First, you'll have a chance to hear from Principal Beth Cunningham about the Visible Learning philosophy and how it shapes our approach to teaching and learning at Doniphan. PTA President Alison Kern will give you an inside look at special events and activities your family can be part of in the year ahead, and PTA board members will be available to help you become a member or sign up to volunteer for events throughout the year.
Then, you can spend some time in your child's classroom to hear from their teacher about specific curriculum, expectations, and fun things they have planned this year.
Look for signup sheets in your teacher's room for opportunities to sign up as a Room Parent or Party Planner/Volunteer throughout the year. There will be a quick Konstella training in the Cafeteria at 6 after the 2nd parent/principal session wraps up and at 6:30 after grades 3,4, & 5 parents visit their classrooms for those parents signed up as a Room Parents or Party Organizers for this year. This will be a great opportunity to learn how to best communicate with your classroom and create signups for class parties, so we hope you will join us for this quick but informative learning opportunity to best serve your classroom.
Here's the schedule for the evening:
5:00 - 5:30 Parent Option 1: PTA/Principal Speaking in Library Media Center
5:30 - 6:00 Parent Option 2: PTA/Principal Speaking in Library Media Center
