Dear Argonne Parents and Caregivers,
I hope you had a restful and sun-filled weekend! I am so excited to return to our second week of school tomorrow!
Overall, our first week of school through Distance Learning went well. Students were finding their way around their Google Classrooms and Zoom class meetings, and our teachers were busily getting to know their new students and families.
Last week, many of you participated in the District’s Town Hall meetings that were intended to gather input for Fall re-opening. If you missed them, here is a link to rewatch them. Town Hall videos are available in Cantonese and Spanish.
This coming Tuesday, July 14th, the District will present recommendations to the School Board. Here are the slides that will be presented as part of the discussion. I encourage you to review these slides to get a sense of the Superintendent’s Office’s direction for possible Fall learning options. I know many of you have questions and are anxious to know what the Fall will look like. At this time, no final decision will be made until the July 28th Board Meeting.
SFUSD is still encouraging families to offer input through a survey. Please share your thoughts here.
As we continue to learn more regarding our Fall opening, I will be working with our teachers, staff, and parent leadership groups to determine how the District plans will impact our community.
Finally, please know that you are always welcome to email me with any questions or concerns, and if you’d like to check in virtually, I will be holding Office Hours for parents and caregivers this Friday from 11:00-12:00pm. Feel free to “stop in” to say hello, introduce yourself, or ask a question! Please note that I will be using the Waiting Room feature to meet with parents and caregivers individually.
