Argonne Family Letter from the Principal, 1/20/21
Wed, Jan 20 9:59am

Dear Argonne Families,

Every year, we celebrate the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. This year it feels especially important to do so in light of the instability and unrest in our nation. Dr. King worked tirelessly in the civil rights movement and his leadership was instrumental in ending segregation. Recent events underscore the deep division, racism, and bias that still exists in our country.

This week will be a historic one. Not only will we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but we will also swear in President Elect Joe Biden and Vice President Elect Kamala Harris, the first African American and South Asian woman to hold this office.

I’d like to share this article with you on how to talk to young kids about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s. impact and the ‘why’ we need to talk to our kids about his legacy. I offer this as a tool only to use at your discretion. On behalf of all our staff, thank you for working in partnership with us as you are your child’s first teacher.

In Community,

Ms. Catingub
