Argonne Family Letter from the Principal, 2/28/21
Mon, Mar 1 8:18am

Dear Argonne Families,

March is a busy time in schools, and we definitely have a full month ahead of us!

If you haven’t already done so, please take 5-10 minutes to give your input to our school planning in this survey. We know this year has presented many challenges and there are still many unknowns for next year, however your input will be essential in our preliminary planning. We appreciate your forward thinking as our school community begins to plan for next school year and determine the best ways to support our students. Today is the last day to complete the survey.

In Community,

Ms. Catingub

Intentaré de contestar a todas las preguntas que pueda. Zoom Information:

  • Return Safely Together Updates: Argonne is a Wave 3 school in Phase 2A of the reopening plan. At this time, there is not a definitive date of return for any school in Phase 2A.

Here are a few updates of reopening specific to Argonne and current events related to the preparation process:

  • We had a Reopening Town Hall last week and here are the slides from that meeting.

  • PLEASE NOTE: As Argonne begins the preparation of our site for the possibility of reopening, our staff will be preparing their classrooms during the workday. This means that on certain days over the next several weeks there will be more asynchronous assignments provided to students. When these dates are confirmed, they will be shared with families. Teachers will also communicate to their families and students of any adjusted schedules

  • At the Tuesday, February 23rd, Board of Education meeting, the Board ratified the baseline safety agreement for reopening schools. Discussions between district and labor unions are ongoing with regards to the instructional hybrid plan. Here is the district’s current proposal for the instructional hybrid plan.

  • See this article from Dr. Matthews about things to consider when planning the reopening of physical school.

  • Educators are now eligible for the vaccine. Please be understanding if a schedule needs to be modified for a day so that teachers can prioritize getting an appointment. We appreciate your patience.

  • School Planning for Next Year: I know that with so much still unknown about next year, and it can be difficult to even think about next year but the reality is, there will be a next year and we are in the midst of planning for it so that when the time comes, we will be ready.
