Dear Argonne Families,

Happy August! As we prepare for our return to school through distance learning on August 17. I want to give a few updates and reminders. 

Device Needs for K-2: This year, SFUSD will loan technology to students who need it for all grade levels, PK-12. Families who do not have internet access at home can request to borrow an Internet Hotspot device to provide connectivity. Students who do not have access to a computer or tablet that can be used for daily distance learning can request to borrow a Chromebook. This technology is property of SFUSD and must be returned to the school when in-person learning resumes, if you no longer attend an SFUSD school and/or upon request by the district. All students who already have an available device at home should keep using that device.

  • In order to receive the technology you need, please fill out the SFUSD Fall 2020 Technology Request FormYou will need your child’s ID number. You can find this number in ParentVue. If you do not have ParentVue, please email sch435@sfusd.edu to request your child’s ID number. 

For learning in the fall, we are focused on making sure our students with the greatest need receive technology to engage in distance learning. For the most up-to-date information about student technology, visit sfusd.edu/device.

ParentVUE: One more (big!) thing to make sure you and your student are set up for the school year. If you have not already done so, please activate your SFUSD Family Portal (ParentVUE) account. ParentVUE accounts are easy to set up, are the best way for you to stay connected to what’s going on in the district and in your student’s learning, including:

  • Keeping your technology working for distance learning, as families will need to use their ParentVUE credentials to request new devices or exchanges throughout the year.

  • Helping your student engage in learning, by accessing their login information to SFUSD digital learning platforms.

  • Seeing important academic information, including your student’s participation in distance learning, assignments, grades, and report cards. 

  • Receiving timely communications from your school and from SFUSD, by updating your phone number, email address, and mailing address.
