Dear SFUSD Family,
I know you have lots of questions about the next school year, and I would like to invite you to join me for a town hall meeting hosted on SFUSD’s YouTube Live channel where we’ll discuss our process for planning for fall learning. We want to hear your suggestions and questions, and we’ll share brief updates on our planning process and public health guidance for schools. The Department of Public Health will also join us at the town halls.
There are three town halls specifically for families:
- Tuesday, July 7: 6:30 - 8:00 PM - SFUSD Cantonese Town Hall for Families
- Wednesday, July 8: 6:30 - 8:00 PM - SFUSD English Town Hall for Families*
- Thursday, July 9: 6:30 - 8:00 PM - SFUSD Spanish Town Hall for Families
*At the English Town Hall, simultaneous interpretation will be provided in Arabic, Cantonese, Filipino, Samoan, Spanish, and Vietnamese
You can share your questions in advance of the town halls by using SFUSD’s ThoughtExchange. ThoughtExchange does not capture any personal information, and does not record anyone’s voice or image. Participants simply type and send their ideas - it’s a lot like sending a text or posting a comment on social media. Then you can see the questions and ideas that other participants are sharing.
To watch the town halls on YouTube Live, you only need a device that connects to the internet. The town halls will also be broadcast on SFGovTV. Find more information about the town halls (including details for accessing interpretation) at www.sfusd.edu/townhalls.
In addition to participating in the town halls, I invite you to share your thoughts on fall learning in this survey. The survey is available onlinein English, Spanish, Cantonese, Tagalog, Arabic, Vietnamese, and Samoan. To take the survey, select your student's school. To change the survey to a different language, go to the dropdown menu at the top of the survey where it says "English." The survey will be accepting responses through July 24th, but I encourage you to respond by July 10th!
We will be sure to keep you informed of other opportunities to share your input regarding fall learning. Thank you, and stay safe.
