Hello Audubon Families,
Thank you to all of those who have already sent in your donations, for those who have not donations are due by Friday 10/28.
The Walk-a-thon is Audubon's biggest fundraiser each year and is the reason the Home & School association can deliver all of the exciting fun events that your children look forward to. We can't do this without the support of all of our wonderful families. We are looking to raise $40 from each student which will allow us to meet our $12,000 goal for this year. If we are unable to reach our goal, this will put some of the other events planned for the year in jeopardy.
For those who are newer to the school or are not aware of the role of the Home & School, here some of the areas where this money is used and if we are unable to reach our goal areas where we will have to cut back or cut out entirely.
Student Field Trips - H&S pays for the busses for the field trips to keep the cost of the trips lower. This is a cost of about $2,000 each year.
Book Distribution - Each year a child is given a book to bring home by the H&S. This is also about $2,000 from the budget.
Cultural Arts Program - Each year H&S plans a few assemblies for the kids where the Franklin Institute comes to the school. This is approximately $2,100
Outside of just the educational items, we also plan fun events that the students look forward to each year that bring the school together and show our Audubon Pride.
Science Fair - there is a cost of about $800 to run this event
Fun Fair - this is the most anticipated event by the kids each year and also one of the most expensive to run at about $3,500.
Without your help we will not be able to deliver these events.
Here is where we stand as of Friday 10/21
We have raised 41% of our goal but still have a long way to go. Keep bringing those donations in, every penny counts and will help us get to our goal. Keep collecting donations and send them in by 10/28. All Checks should be made payable to Audubon Home & School
There will be classroom prizes as well as individual prizes for the highest donations. As of now Mrs. Craig's class is in the lead with $335 and Mrs. Flaherty's class is right behind them with $330.
If you want to know more about the budget and how we will be using your donations you can attend the next H&S meeting Wednesday November 2nd at 7 pm. Meetings are held at the school or you reach out to one of the board members with any questions.
Thank you for your time and generosity
