Connecting our Community
Letter from our PFC President
Hi Bobcat Families,
Dear Bobcat Families,
This has been an amazing year thus far. There are many people who have gone above and beyond to help Bancroft and the PFC. Suzanne Leibowitz, Lianne Bosko, and the entire auction committee hosted an amazing auction and brought in over $50,000 this year. Amiee Gordon organized the lovely, hand-painted, tile mural that greets Bancroft families every morning and the upcoming marquis. Katy Schultz, Melissa Horgan, and many volunteers ran a successful, book fair, which will put new books in the school library and in the classrooms. Ms. Andrews, Mrs. Giffin, Mrs. Rooney, Mrs. Schuler and Maestra Giron organized a perfect Bancroft 50th Anniversary Celebration. Jennifer Enson, Angela Sandoval, and many others put together our last fundraiser of the year, Mathletics. Children loved this event because it makes math exciting and fun. My deepest thanks to everyone for your time, donations, and your company’s matching contributions. Because of you, Bancroft is an even more exceptional school for our kids, teachers, and staff.
The teachers hosted a great open house and showcased our children’s work beautifully. They gave their best effort to educate and inspire our children throughout the year. Let’s make sure to remember them during staff appreciation week on May 7-11.
As the end of the school year fast approaches, we look forward to the next year’s needs and challenges. Please join us at the May 8th PFC meeting to vote on a the 2018-2019 PFC budget and PFC. There are still key positions available such as VP of Fundraising and Auditor. Please contact me if you are interested in a PFC position.
This has been a fun-filled year tackling projects and making new friends. Thank you for the privilege of being a part of your PFC.
President, Bancroft PFC

Bobcat Buddies Program Needs You!
In the not-so-distant future, we'll have many new families joining our community when the 2018/19 school year starts. To help these new families feel welcomed and prepared, we are looking for volunteers to be their Bobcat Buddies. As a buddy, you will be paired via email with a new family, and will become a point of contact for them by greeting them and answering questions that may arise. Please consider signing-up to volunteer - a separate communication will be sent via Konstella.
The 2018 Auction was our most profitable yet! Thank you to all who donated, attended and worked tirelessly to make it successful. There are still a few items available for purchase, particularly the popular Tacos & Tequila party. See link below for details. The wrap up auction meeting is on 5/10. All input and feedback welcome. Contact auction lead Suzanne Yahiro Leibowitz at email@example.com if you have any input or if you want to be a part of the team for the 2019 auction. Here is a link for a few remaining items to be sold:
Book Fair Success!
Thank you to all who supported our Spring 2018 Scholastic Book Fair! This event provides our amazing Bancroft staff, students, and library with materials and supplies to support and enhance our English/Language Arts program. Please see the full wrap-up letter from our wonderful librarian Mrs. Gay attached and Remember to Read Every Day!
Box Tops for Education
Congrats to Ms. Hick's class for bringing in the most Box Tops in February and to Ms. Parker's class for bringing in the most Box Tops during the month of March. They are especially excited to enjoy extra recess time for bringing in over 150 Box Tops last month. Thank you as this helps us bring more programs and resources to the students!!
Look for Box Tops on your grocery and household packages, then bring them to Bancroft in a bag or envelope or Box Top sheet labeled with your teacher's name.
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to reach out to our Box Tops for Education coordinator Alyson Ogden at firstname.lastname@example.org.
