Connecting our Community

Letter from our PFC President

Happy New Year Bobcat Families,

Welcome back to Bancroft!  I hope you had a restful holiday and are ready to start the new year.  2018 will be an exciting year for us as it is Bancroft Elementary 50th anniversary! Planning has begun in earnest for a celebration and events around this momentous anniversary.  We also have our annual Auction coming up in April as well as the Spring Bancroft Book Fair.

We also have an opening on the PFC and we are looking for a Treasurer who can assist for the rest of this year and take over next 2018-2019 School Year. Our current Treasurer has served two terms will be moving on soon, and we want to ensure training and transition.  Please reach out to me directly if you are interested.

It takes a lot of effort to organize and put together these events, and we greatly appreciate the efforts of all the parent volunteers who pitch in and help plan, prepare, and run these great events.

Looking forward to a great Bancroft 2018!

Go Bobcats!

Sandra Heinen

President, Bancroft PFC

Totally 80's Auction Coming - March 24th!

Dust of your dancing shoes and get ready for the Totally 80's Auction on Saturday 3/24 at Heather Farm Community Center.  This fun adult only event is our biggest annual fundraiser and is a great way to connect with other Bancroft families. Money raised this past year at the auction helped fund the instructional assistants, two-day site tech and a portion of our garden educator! As a part of the auction you will be contacted by your Room Parents who are collecting funds to prepare a themed gift basket to be auctioned off. If you are creative and want to help with this project, please contact your room parent. We are still looking for donations: If you have a timeshare, vacation rental, hotel stay or anything else that you think may be desirable, please contact the committee cochairs Lianne Bosko (lianne.bosko@gmail.com) or Suzanne Yahiro Leibowitz (asuzanneya@hotmail.com).  Tickets will be on sale soon!

Spirit Wear

Every Friday is Spirit Wear day at Bancroft! Show your school spirit by purchasing Bancroft Spirit Wear.  We are still receiving orders for Spirit Wear items. Please make sure to use the updated order form which can be downloaded from the school website here.  Thank you in advance for your order and supporting the Bancroft PFC.  Please contact Tatiana Diaz at lawyer1069@aol.com if you have any questions.

 Box Tops for Education

Congratulations to the students of C-10, Ms. Davis and Ms. Winbery's class, our December Box Tops winner. They even got extra recess time because they brought in more than 150 Box Tops that month!
Look for Box Tops on your grocery and household packages, then bring them to Bancroft in a bag or envelope or Box Top sheet labeled with your teacher's name.
