Connecting our Community

Letter from our PFC President

Dear Bobcat Families,

As we enter this annual season of thanksgiving, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the entire Bancroft community.  We have a had a lot of things to be grateful for this year, including all our wonderful students, staff, and parents.

Please join us in helping celebrate the season and enjoy each other’s company at the Holiday Cheer on December 1 from 5-7pm, located in the Multi-Use Room (MUR). This year we also invite you to help others in our MDUSD community by contributing to Mt. Diablo HOPE (Homeless Outreach Program for Education). Details are provided in the flyer attached. PFC will be collecting donations at the Holiday Cheer.

Remember that early dismissals start the week of December 11th to allow time for conferences with your teachers. Join us that week after school for the Fall Book Fair, open M-Th until 6pm (details below). Online ordering is available this week 11/27-12/8.

Go Bobcats!

Fundraising Update

Strategic Funds Update
The Strategic Funds Committee last met in late September to discuss implementation of projects recommended by the school community through the spring 2017 surveys.  Our most recent investments, Chromebooks for third grade, and a set of Chromebooks on a mobile cart for use in STEAM lab and the lower grades have been very well received by our students and teachers.  On the drawing board are several exciting projects around campus, including an outdoor teaching space (adjacent to the garden), playground enhancements and an upgrade to the Bancroft sign in the bus circle.  We are actively seeking references from the community for landscape and general contractors, building materials suppliers and volunteers for campus projects.  The committee is open to all, and will hold its next meeting at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 28 at Whole Foods Market, located at 2941 Ygnacio Valley Road.  Please direct any questions or references to Matt Gould at (415) 806-6848 or mgould@bancroftpfc.org

Thank you Bobcat families for supporting Dine2Donate events.  Our recent restaurant fundraiser was at Sorrento Italian Restaurant where it very successfully generated a $500 check to Bancroft PFC! Our event in October at Chipotle brought in over $800!
We are hoping for the next event to be at Burger Lounge, Mooyah's Burgers or Kinder's BBQ.
Any suggestions, connections or ideas, to new places, please let Elizabeth Real or Anna Rowe know.

Fall Fest was Fun for All!

This year's Fall Fest was a huge success!! It was a beautiful fall day, allowing for Bancroft families and friends to attend and enjoy all the wonderful festivities. A big thank you to everyone who attended, the 4th grade families raised $5,325.30 to put towards next year's Outdoor Education trip! We would like to thank the entire Fall Fest committee for making this fun event possible and to all of our sponsors for their generous donations. And an extra big thank you to everyone who volunteered the day of the festival and to all the baker's who donated to the cake walk! It takes a village to make this wonderful event happen, we could not have done it without everyone who stepped up to help out. Thank you!!

Auction Coming - March 24th!

Hello Bancroft families!  We are in full gear preparing for the amazing "Totally 80s" Auction on March 24, 2018.  Our next auction meeting is on Tuesday 12/5, contact co chairs Suzanne Yahiro Leibowitz or Lianne Bosko if you are interesting in joining.  If you have anything you can donate to the auction, particularly a vacation rental, theater/museum tickets, salon services, connection for a Facebook/Google/Pixar tour, wine, or anything that will be fun for our event, please contact anyone from the committee.  Do you like to host parties?!  We are also looking for families who may want to host our popular "buy in parties" - contact us for details.  Dust off those legwarmers and stirrup pants, we look forward to seeing you at the auction!

Box Tops for Education

Congratulations to Maestra Ponce's class for bringing in the most Box Tops in September! They are proudly displaying their Bobcat "Putting Your Best Paw Forward" trophy in the picture and they also were awarded 10 minutes of extra recess time because they brought in more than 150 Box Tops. Thank you! This results in more funds for our school to help support the programs and resources our children benefit from.
Congratulations to Miss Johnson's's class for bringing in the most Box Tops in October! They too the trophy this month and they also were awarded 10 minutes of extra recess time because they brought in more than 250 Box Tops.

Look for Box Tops on your grocery and household packages, then bring them to Bancroft in a bag or envelope or Box Top sheet labeled with your teacher's name.  Here is a link to all the products that carry Box Tops for Education: https://www.boxtops4education.com/earn/participating-products
