Connecting our Community

Letter from our PFC President

Dear Bobcat Families,

October has been bustling for Bancroft. The kids are settled in school and busy at work.  The teachers are creating fun and engaging projects.  All of us, the parents, are supporting our children's endeavors and volunteering for various events.  Here are some of the enjoyable, October events.

Walk-a-thon

Many thanks to the amazing Kristin Carrillo for organizing a fun walk-a-thon. Stephanie Lee- we couldn’t have pulled off this event without your guidance. Thanks a bunch to the kids and the parents for supporting, donating, cheering and participating in the walk-a-thon.  Also, please turn in your children’s envelopes, if you haven’t done so already.

Community Service Day

There were over 30 volunteers, including our Bancroft students, alumni, and family, the Rotary, and many more from the East Bay Area, that worked to re-paint the paw prints and spruce up our garden.

Fall Fest

The Fall Fest, on October 28, is sure to be an enjoyable and safe event for the entire family.  Thanks a million to Julie Fustok, Ashley Foster and the many parent volunteers (click here to volunteer).  The Fall Fest is the fourth graders’ fundraiser for their Exploring New Horizons Science Camp as fifth graders next year in November 2018. Please come out and support them!

Thank you to everyone for making Bancroft a wonderful place.

Go Bobcats!

Sandra Heinen

President, Bancroft PFC

As of September 30th, we are at 44% of our fundraising goal, nearly half way there!

Thank you!!

Fall Fest - October 28th, 2-5:30pm

This is a very important fundraiser lead by the 4th grade parents to raise money for next year's outdoor education trip. The entire Fall Fest committee has been hard at work planning lots of fun activities to make this a fun day for the whole family!

We have new carnival games, in addition to everyone's returning favorites, the cake walk, haunted house, and an amazing raffle drawing. In addition to all this, there will also be bouncy houses and slides, a rock wall (click here for rock wall waiver), and spooky stories in the Library with Mrs. Gay. We will be serving lots of delicious concessions, drinks, and treats. And to top it all off, there will be a FREE Magic Show in the MUR at the end of the day!

The Cake Walk is a Bancroft tradition and we are bringing back the cake decorating contest!! We are requesting donations of festive treats to make the Cake Walk game possible and all entries received on Friday morning will be viewed and judged by Bancroft students & staff. The top three cakes will be raffled off and the cake with the most votes wins a prize!

Each year, volunteers from all classes are needed to help support Bancroft's annual Fall Festival. To make this event a success, we need everyone's help! We are so grateful to the Bancroft community for their support of the Fall Fest, as a thank you, we will be giving out 10 free tickets to everyone who volunteers during the festival. Volunteer sign ups are available here on Konstella, and are divided by classroom. Please sign up under your child's classroom & teacher. For this event, you do NOT need to be fingerprinted with the district to volunteer and Bancroft Alumni are also welcome and invited to be volunteers at the Fall Fest!

All students, friends, and family are invited to dress up and have fun. We look forward to seeing you and your family at this fun community event!

If you have any questions or know of any Bancroft Alumni who would like to help out during the event, please contact Ashley Foster (ashleyfoster02@gmail.com) or Julie Fustok (juliefustok@gmail.com).

Walk A Thon Fun!

Our Bobcats did an amazing job running and walking Tuesday, October 17th to raise money for the school. Thank you to all our volunteers and sponsors who helped make the Walk A Thon a great event! We're especially grateful to our parent volunteers, Ms. Linell, Stefanie Lee, and Mrs. Schuler for all their support and our sponsors Whole Foods, Dianne Adair, and Simply Selling Shirts.

We are still missing A LOT of pledge envelopes! Please turn in your empty pledge envelopes to your teacher or the office as soon as possible so that we can calculate pledges due and ensure that everyone's generous donations can make their way to our PFC funded programs.

Family Night Success!

Thank you to all the families who participated in our Maker's Faire! There were so many creative, interactive, fun stations for all the families who came to enjoy! Here are a few pictures from the evening.
