Year End Artwork on Artsonia
Tue, May 27 3:01pm
Hello Bancroft families,

Thank you to all who attended the Bancroft Art Show during the open house. It was so much fun putting it together and spotlighting the artwork of all the Bancroft students. I could not have done it without the amazing volunteers who worked tirelessly to bring the vision to life.

As I sort all the artwork into folders to send home, I want to discuss the QR codes on the pieces that were displayed in the show.
I use an online art portfolio program called Artsonia for all my students. It helps me see the progress students make in art throughout their years in Bancroft, from TK to 5th grade. It also helps me keep track of all the artwork completed/received/returned and is an invaluable resource during art show preparation and labeling.

Parents and family have access to their student’s accounts. You can see every time I upload a new project (this is great since I keep all the artwork until the end of the year). If you wish, you can also connect your extended family to the accounts. Artsonia allows the artwork to be ordered on products (such as mugs, sketchbooks, ornaments, etc) and the company donates 20% of the proceeds back to our art program. This part is entirely optional, and you can use Artsonia strictly as an online portfolio or not sign up to see it at all.

Your student’s account will remain private (meaning I am the only one who can see it) until you give Artsonia permission to make it public, but no personal details beyond their first name will ever be disclosed. You may also keep the gallery private; just let me know, and I will adjust your student’s settings. Nobody outside of those with your permission can communicate through Artsonia, and I monitor every comment that comes through. Here is how to connect: go to www.artsonia.com/parents and enter parent code 4PKM5THK.

Thank you for a fantastic year, and I am looking forward to seeing you all in August.

Ms. Alisa
