Green tip: Spring Forward and Save

Daylight Savings Time began today, Sunday, March 10.! We set clocks one hour forward. You might miss the sleep, but you can still save:

  • Energy: Set thermostats later, reset timed lights for later, and sprinklers when it's still cool. Check fans, heaters, computers, too.
  • Travel: Get outside - use light to walk, bike, be in nature, eat outside, play. Garden or feed birds.
  • Health: Open windows, curtains, blinds. Natural light counters screens' blue light, which affects sleep and mood.
  • Water: Save rainwater for plants, and take cooler showers.
  • Food: Farmer's markets are open, so keep eating seasonal, locally grown spring produce.
