Parent Ed  Webinar: Gender Development in Early Childhood and Adolescence

When: Monday, March 25

Where: 6:30 PM- 8:00 PM over Zoom, Password: 297536

Gender has morphed from are you a boy or a girl? to a question that is much more complex. If you are hoping to more fully understand this changing landscape, join us for an informative session with Joel Baum, director of education at the Child & Adolescent Gender Center at UCSF. He will help us get gender literate, from the importance of pronouns to understanding what it means to be non-binary, to how gender develops and how we can best support our children and their friends in being their most authentic selves. We will have a parent perspective, a former student perspective, and time for Q&A. This is a webinar format, so attendance is anonymous. Sponsored by the PTAs of Barron Park, JLS, Ohlone and Walter Hays Register for the event here. Submit questions here

Green tip: E-waste Recycling

When you have electronics that don't work - try repairing them first. Take them to a Repair Cafe (March 17th or April 20th - repaircafe-paloalto.org). Pass on working items to those who might use them. Save unrepairable items for the E-waste truck in the Ohlone Elementary parking lot, 950 Amarillo Ave, on Saturday 3/23 9AM-3PM. Anyone in the district or the wider community may bring items. Bring electronics, power tools, computers, cell phones, CD players, computers, cords, printers, metal, TVs, and more to be safely recycled! Full list of accepted items: https://ajelectronicrecycling.com/accepted-items/

Health and Wellness Tip: Being Safe at School

Share your thoughts about PAUSD’s safety policies in this Google Form Whenever you see something that endangers the physical or mental health of anyone - student, staff, or others - on campus, find a trusted adult, and then report it - as yourself or anonymously. See the flyer for more details. When we look out for each other, we build community and keep each other safe and well.

Come join us for drama, music and hijinks in Shakespeare’s lively comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Set in New Orleans circa 2018, soul mates Lysander and Hermia must flee the city into the bayou because Hermia’s father demands she marry Demetrius. Demetrius follows Hermia, and poor Helena follows Demetrius. While in the woods, the king of the fairies and his mischievous assistant Puck get involved in the lovers’ quarrel to a hilarious and catastrophic end.
