With several board members expected to turn over next year, we’re also looking for future PTSA leaders. Come get involved, meet the community, and get a taste of how we work together to make Bay Farm an even better place for our kids.

Planning to volunteer at Bay Farm this year? New state requirements affect all Level 2 and Level 3 volunteers.

Volunteers now need to complete Mandated Reporter Training each year and continue to register annually to keep their Live Scan clearance active. The English training takes about 67 minutes, with other languages available.

You don’t need to be an HTML expert. If you’re comfortable enough with HTML/CSS, or willing to use tools like ChatGPT to help, you can do this. It’s a flexible, work-from-home role, and no volunteer clearance is required.

Last year, we heard a lot about the challenges families and staff experience during arrival and dismissal. This year, we’re working together to address them using the same tools we teach our kids every day: Be Safe. Be Responsible. Be Kind. Be an Ally.

We know mornings can be stressful. Traffic is frustrating, everyone is in a rush, and sometimes just getting the kids out the door feels like an accomplishment! But we’re also part of a community, and the choices each of us makes affect everyone around us.

This year, we’re asking everyone to use the 4 B’s to help keep kids safe, respect each other’s time, show kindness to our neighbors and volunteers, and be an ally to our teachers, staff, and fellow families.

AC Transit has updated its schedule for the new school year. If Line 31 works for your family, consider giving it a try! Fewer cars around school means an easier arrival for everyone.

Thanks to some great advocacy by Bay Farm parent Jackie Zipkin, the City will soon be painting crosswalks at Limerick and Kofman Pkwy. These are common crossing points for Bay Farm students and families where we’ve seen too many close calls.

The new crosswalks are coming soon, but in the meantime, please drive carefully through our neighborhoods and always watch for kids crossing.

Thank you, Jackie, for helping make our students’ routes to school safer! This is another great example of our community coming together to create positive change for our students.
