Golden Sneaker Contest

Golden Sneaker runs March 2–13. This Alameda County Safe Routes to Schools program encourages students to walk, bike, scooter, carpool, or take transit to school. The goal is to make safe, active trips to school fun and routine.

How It Works

Each active trip earns a classroom tally
Classrooms compete for prizes and recognition
Every trip counts
Live farther away? Drive partway, then walk or roll the rest

Why participate? Students build independence, get fresh air, and help reduce traffic congestion around school.

We’re creating a short video highlighting Bay Farm families who walk and roll to school.

Filming is quick and will take place on Feb 18, 19, 20, 26, or 27.

Thank-You Collage for the City

As the Aughinbaugh paving project nears completion, we’re creating a collage of photos, drawings, and notes from Bay Farm families to present to City staff.

Please submit photos, student artwork, or short thank-you notes by Wednesday, March 4.

Golden Sneaker Bike Bus

Monday, March 9

Celebrate the new Aughinbaugh protected bike lanes by riding to school together. We will have a special morning ceremony with members of City Council and Staff.

Meet at Mecartney Fire Station at 7:45 AM
Depart at 7:55 AM
