Dear Bay Farm Families,
Save the Date for our upcoming Family Literacy and Book Fair Night on Wednesday, February 5th from 6 – 8. Literacy Night is about supporting our students’ reading habits in ways that make it fun! Let’s face it…we are battling the screens, and the science on how devices affect young brains is not good. Reading is literally the cure. Come to literacy night to learn:
- How to help your child independently pick a great “Just for Me” book with Book Tastings
- The value of the picture book. They aren’t like they used to be! Picture books are the gateway to important topics like acceptance, love, social justice, Science, and history.
- How to find great books and resources at the Alameda Free Library
- The value and best practice of reading to your children at ALL ages.
You will be able to meet a local author and artist Booki Vivat. She will be answering questions, signing books and providing an art demonstration!
Book Fair will be open from 6 – 8.
Kids can read with our teen volunteers and add to their Read-A-Thon Minutes.
Raffle tickets for Book Fair credit are issued for every workshop attended.
This is a family event!
