Empowering picture books celebrating Black representation
Reading for Black History Month

As we celebrate Black History Month and Read-A-Thon, this Instagram video highlights uplifting, empowering picture books that celebrate Black representation — wonderful choices for logging minutes and reading together this month.

These stories are meaningful to share now and all year long, with universal messages that resonate with young readers.

Parents’ Night Out: Happy Feet

FRI, FEB 27, 2026  |  Rated PG

Happy Feet follows Mumble, an emperor penguin who can’t sing like the others — but can tap dance like no one else. A fun, music-filled movie about being yourself, friendship, and finding your groove.

Drop the kids off for movie night at Bay Farm, and enjoy a night out. The kids will have happy feet by the end — and parents might too. 🐧

Get Ready for the Science & Engineering Fair

TUE, APR 7, 2026 in Bay Farm MPR

One of the highlights of the year for Bay Farm students and families, the Science & Engineering Fair is a chance for kids to explore big questions, test ideas, and show off their creativity.

All Bay Farm students in grades K–5 are invited to participate. Whether your child is experimenting, inventing, or investigating how things work, this is their moment to shine.

Now is the time to start planning! Students must request a display board to participate, and families can find project ideas, timelines, and helpful resources on our website.

Around-the-School Safety Update

Crews are installing plastic bike-lane markers around the school, so you may not see cones right now. Please slow down and stay alert while this work is underway.

🚗 For Drivers

  • No U-turns on Aughinbaugh or Kofman Pkwy. They are dangerous for everyone.
  • Look carefully before opening car doors for cyclists and passing cars.
  • The loop is for drop-off only. Don’t leave vehicles unattended.

🚲 For Our Young Cyclists

  • Walk your bike on the sidewalks in front of the school.
  • Bike lanes are one-directional — ride the correct way.
  • Slow down and look both ways before crossing driveways and streets.

Please remind your kids of safe practices — and help spread the word to fellow drivers, too. Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe.
