Join Bay Farm's GoGreen Committee!
Our school’s GoGreen Committee works to inspire students, families, and staff to make sustainable choices and care for the environment. Throughout the year, we organize fun and educational activities that encourage waste reduction, sustainable transportation, and a love for nature.

Our events and initiatives may include:

  • Zero Waste Picnic – learn how to enjoy dinner outside without creating trash

  • Travel Buddies – connect families who want to walk, bike, or carpool together

  • Walk & Roll to School Day – celebrate active, eco-friendly commutes

  • Project FeederWatch – help collect bird data for real science research

  • Ruby Bridges Day – honor history and equity through community action

  • Holiday Gift Tips – share creative, low-waste gift ideas

  • Coat Drive – give gently used coats a new life

  • Golden Sneaker Award – reward classes for sustainable travel

  • Earth Week – a week of green challenges and celebrations

  • Bike to School Day – roll into school the healthy way

  • BikeMobile – get free bike repairs and learn basic maintenance

  • Evening on the Green – showcase our community’s green spirit

Email: gogreen@bayfarmptsa.org The Go Green Lead champions sustainability at Bay Farm, inspiring students and families to make eco-friendly choices through hands-on initiatives throughout the year. This role recruits and supports Go Green Initiative Leads, each of whom takes ownership of a specific program, and hosts the Go Green table at the Back to School Expo, Bay Farm's biggest sustainability recruitment moment. The Go Green Lead also brings ideas to the Programs Committee to keep sustainability an active part of school life year over year.

Initiative examples are Walk & Roll to School Day, the Golden Sneaker Contest, Ridwell recycling participation, or Ruby Bridges Day. This is a great way for a parent (or a parent-student duo!) to make a focused, manageable impact without needing to run the whole committee.
