The wonderful teachers at Bay Farm is trying out a new program at Bay Farm.
The Alameda County Bike Mobile program will visit Bay Farm School for the first time this Thursday, Jan 11 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
This free program that teaches kids one on one about bike safety and bike repair. Students can bring their bike to school and meet with a mechanic during the day. Together they will check out their bike for safety and repair needs and fix it together. Most students will need very little maintenance and will spend just a few minutes with the mechanic.
But, it is supposed to be an awesome program.
Because we are such a large school, we are trying it out as a pilot program with the students from 5th grade this go around.
The teachers are looking for a few parent volunteers to perhaps work in 1 hour shifts to assist.
Parent volunteers will help keep us on schedule and help manage the traffic flow of bikes throughout the day. Please contact Mrs. Kuttner at firstname.lastname@example.org or any 5th grade teacher to sign up for a volunteer shift!
