Bay Farm School

Dear Bay Farm Families!

To celebrate the joy of art, encourage scientific inquiry, and nurture possibility, Bay Farm’s PTSA is sponsoring a series of Family STEAM nights. These Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math -focused nights will be an opportunity for you and your family to have fun and, as Ms Frizzle always says, “Take chances, make mistakes, and get messy!”

Our first in the series is this Friday (9/21) from 7pm -9pm in the MPR.   For this event, we will be exploring the science of food.  There will be a guest speaker to talk about food science and what it means in our daily lives.   We'll also be learning about how molecules behave under different conditions, such as temperature and it's effect on one of the most favorite desert items - Ice Cream!!!

Attached is a voluntary activities participation form.  Please sign the form and bring it with you to the Family STEAM night.  A signed formed by a parent or guardian is required for participation.  Performing science experiments have some inherent risks and we will take all safety precautions to ensure every participants safety.  By signing the attached voluntary activities participation form you accept the risks associated with participating in a family STEAM night and waive and disclaim all liability for any injuries that may result from your participation.

The experiments we have planned for Friday's event is suitable for children 5 years and older.  If you child has a younger sibling, we encourge you to please leave them at home.  Additionally, please dress your child in long sleeve shirts, pants, and closed toe shoes.

We are in need of a few more volunteers to help make this event a raging success.  If you are able to help, please send Dotti or I a message.

Looking forward to seeing you there and let's have some fun!
