Hello Bay Farm Families,
As many of you may have heard from your Children, the Reflections Art Program Prizes were given out to the winners in morning assembly Tuesday (12/04/18). There were some really stunning entries this year, with students responding to the theme "Heroes Around Us" with artwork in one of the 6 categories (Visual Arts, Photography, Film Production, Dance Choreography, Literature, Musical Composition)
The 2019 winners were:
Primary (grades K-2)
Lani Heng (Visual Art)
Benjamin Chee (Photography)
Intermediate (grades 3-5)
Lara Pailliotet and Gabby Matsushita (Dance Choreography)
Matthew Hung (Film Production)
Jonathon Tamir (Photography)
Shruthi Ananthavel (Music Composition)
Matthew Hung (Literature)
Lucia Arroyo (Visual Art)
Middle (Grades 6-8)
Levi Serrano (Visual Art)
All of the Primary and Intermediate winners have also been selected to represent Alameda at the county level, so we wait to hear if there are further accolades yet to come!
There were a huge number of entries in the Visual Arts category and the competition was fierce. We decided to award 5 "Highly Commended" awards to visual artists whose work deserved recognition. They were:
Primary: Maahi Samant
Intermediate: Ava Joy Rivera
All of the Reflections artwork (apart from the winning entries) is now available for collection from the office. Please collect them before the end of the day on Friday 12/07.
I intend to exhibit the winning artwork in school before the end of the year. Once the county/ state level judging has been completed and the artworks are returned to me, I will let you all know when and where the art will be on display.
Thank you to all the entrants for their vision and enthusiasm.
