There are many wonderful meetings, workshops and opportunities coming up for those interested in Special Education and Special Needs advocacy.

 

1. Financial Planning for Special Needs

Monday, 1/28 6:30-8PM  @ AUSD Marina Room (2060 Challenger Drive, Alameda 94501)

Presented by the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) of the North Region  SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area)

 

2. AUSD Strategic Plan for Special Education

Wednesday 1/30 6:30-8:30 @ Franklin Elementary

Alameda Special Education Family Support Group is having a meeting. Victoria Forrester, AUSD Director of Special Education, will be discussing the AUSD Strategic Plan for Special Education.

 

3. Family Caregiver Workshop at Alameda Free Library

Tuesday, 2/19 6-8PM @ the Main Library (1550 Oak Street)

Alameda Free Library and CARES (Caregiver Access to Resources, Education and Support) are hosting an evening of resources, assistance and networking for family caregivers for the elderly/ill. 

 

4. Accessibility Advisory Committee Recruitment

Applications are being accepted for volunteers to serve on the Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District's Accessibility Advisory Committee. The deadline is 2/1.
