This committee is in place to spread the importance of kindness, inclusion, upstanding, and even apologizing. All children at one time or another have been hurt by something another child did or said. For many kids hurt feelings are accompanied with embarrassment and shame. School-aged children are constantly being faced with interpersonal interactions that have the power to lift others up or tear them down. Our goal is to open up dialogue about this important topic and create a safe place for our BPE students to share their experiences, feel validated, and learn how to apologize. We plan to do this through classroom activities and various tools.
