As we enter the season of gratitude, I want to thank everyone for being a part of the Bayside Community. I want to especially thank and praise our student athletes and the many parent volunteers who support Bayside Sports.
In case you haven’t hear it, the Bayside Eagles are unstoppable!
Highlights from the Fall Season include:
- Girls 8A and 6A Volleyball teams won their league championship and 7A won 2nd Place! This is the first year Bayside had 6 volleyball teams and all 6 made it into playoffs.
- 6th grade Flag Football made the playoffs and took 3rd place in the league.
- At the Cross Country Finals, Girls A took 1st place; Boys A came in 3rd place and Boys B in 6th place! Several runners placed in the top ten for their grade: Elliot & Zachary Hassaine-LaFrance, Drew Yeager, Noah Kissan, Lorenzo Mack, Anna Pappas, Clare Parnham, Camryn Low, Grace Yeh and Annalise Sweeney. Way to go Bayside!
These results are especially impressive when you consider that Bayside is competing against much larger schools from Districts that have paid staff coaching their teams and strong booster programs. For a school our size, we definitely punch above our weight class - not just in terms of results: our participation numbers are off the charts. Bayside’s Cross Country team had more than 75 student athletes - a huge jump from previous years.
An extra big THANK YOU to parent Colleen Carter who is the acting interim Athletic Director and organizing all of these teams. Sports matter. Thankfully, Bayside sports are alive & well.
Have a healthy and joyful Thanksgiving.
PTSA President/parent of 8th grader & 5th grader
